Director, Sue Wallace

Crested Butte Columbine

The Wildflower Festival has a new director in 2008! Sue is excited about continuing the incredible work that has gone into making the Festival what it is today. She is also eager to share some new ideas in her first year, and welcomes any and all suggestions to make the Festival the best it can be.

Sue and her husband Pat moved to Crested Butte from Boulder in 2007, fulfilling a life-long dream of living in paradise! They are avid flower-gazers, mountain bikers, and skiers. In Boulder, she worked for the University of Colorado Housing Department as the environmental projects manager, and was the energy projects manager at the Boulder Energy Conservation Center.

Being a passionate environmentalist, Sue will oversee the first "Zero-Waste" Wildflower Festival, where everything that can be recycled and composted will be, and all energy use-both facility and tranportation-will be offset with carbon and renewable energy credits. Thanks to the Gunnison Community Foundation for their grant support of this new endeavor.

Sue is looking forward to meeting you this summer!
